Autumn and spring last just for a couple of weeks and almost non existent in Rome. After summer starts soft Mediterranean winter, however last winter something pure magical happened in Rome.

Testaccio part I
Starting point of my visual description of Italy is Testaccio, food market and area in the heart of Italy - Rome.
You can easily go to this area placed in the center, near metrostation Piramide Line B.
Apart from buying grocery, you should try street food inside this market. Top one - fresh pasta Cacio e Pepe (typical for Rome). Wait in line 5-7 minutes while it would be preparing and than you will understand - its definitely worth it!
Next good local point in this area just in 3 minutes walk from the market - Macro Museum (Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Roma). Great place to visit, if you are interested in arts and need a bit of modern things in Eternal city. Check exhibitions on http://www.museomacro.org/
